Screening for success

Hiring a domestic worker in Bangkok is something that almost every family does. But where you hire from is just as important as who you hire.

The process can be challenging and time-consuming – and potentially unsafe, if you try to do it yourself. After all, this is the person you’ll be entrusting with your home and your children.

At PNA, our vetting processes mean that we only ever present Candidates to you that have the correct (and legal) paperwork, relevant experience, engaging personalities and a very strong work ethic.

I WAS BEGINNING TO WONDER WHETHER WE’D EVER FIND A NANNY AGENCY THAT COULD DELIVER. SO RELIEVED YOU WERE RECOMMENDED TO US!

Our Candidates
At PNA, we never advertise for Nannies – we don’t need to. Having been in business since 1991, our reputation for diligence and integrity precedes us.

There is also a very active ‘grapevine’ in Bangkok and the Nannies talk to each other all the time. They know who to trust.

As such, our existing Nannies bring their friends to us, or recommend us to other Nannies they meet at the kindergarten or playground.

Sometimes, even their ex-employers advocate using PNA, as they want their Nanny (with whom they have become very close) to be looked after when they move on or relocate back to their own countries.

We also have a presence online, via our website, Line and Facebook that attracts further applicants.

Personally interviewed by us
All applicants that want to register with PNA will need to visit our office so we can interview them in person. Not all agencies do this; some opt instead to conduct brief interviews online or via telephone.

At PNA we like to walk applicants through the Registration Form in order to systematically check their references, their experience and their work permits and visas (they must be registered with the Thai Labour Department).

We also test their formal language skills and then we simply chat with them – to get a better feel for their personalities and aspirations.

And after all this, we only accept 1 in 5 applicants.

Why? Because it’s important to us that every PNA Candidate that we place with families will favourably reflect our company values and meet our customers’ needs and standards.

Is your domestic worker legal?
Whether you decide to appoint PNA or another Agency, you must protect yourself by ensuring that the Nanny you choose is legally allowed to work in Thailand as a domestic worker.
